About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in cellular and molecular biology, with experience in assay development and target validation. You will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and establishing 3D multicellular models that closely mimic human tissue architecture and disease states.

You will also contribute to orthogonal validation projects by maintaining cell lines, utilizing CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing & microscopy endpoints, and generating biological data to support novel drug discovery projects.

Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize 3D multicellular models for understanding novel target biology
  • Maintain cell lines and utilize CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing & microscopy endpoints
  • Generate and analyze biological data to support novel drug discovery projects

Requirements

  • MSc or PhD in Biological Sciences with 1-2 years of experience in assay development and/or target validation
  • Experience with mammalian cellular models, including established cell lines, patient-derived primary cells, and 2D or 3D multicellular assays
  • Familiarity with multi-parameter endpoints, such as flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy, and RT-qPCR
  • Knowledge of gene editing tools (e.g., CRISPR/Cas9) and RNA interference for modulating gene expression in 2D and 3D cell systems

What We Offer

Hlx Life Sciences offers a competitive salary range of £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including a pension scheme, annual leave, and professional development opportunities.
