Role Summary

We are seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our product development team, focusing on the design and testing of software for our laser systems. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in the long-term evolution of our scalable system platform, as well as the complete lifecycle development of individual laser products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create reliable and efficient C code for high-quality laser systems.
  • Enhance and maintain existing libraries to facilitate rapid deployment.
  • Generate necessary technical documentation.
  • Plan and estimate development tasks effectively.
  • Coordinate software integration with hardware and optical components.
  • Provide support for legacy software on current products.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven software engineering experience, ideally in an industrial setting.
  • Proficient in C programming with a solid understanding of Object-Oriented design principles.
  • Experience in developing scalable system modules and low-level drivers for integration into extensive codebases.
  • Strong background in Real-Time Operating Systems, pre-emptive multitasking, and event-driven programming.
  • Familiarity with low-level Microcontroller interfaces, including UART, Ethernet, CAN Bus, I2C, SPI, ADC, and DAC.
  • Ability to interpret electronic schematic diagrams and component datasheets.
  • Hands-on experience in embedded software and hardware integration, verification, and testing, including debugging firmware at the board level on prototypes.
  • Proficient in Version Control Systems and integration tools (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps, and Jenkins).
  • Strong communication skills to address technical inquiries from other departments and customers clearly and professionally.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience with closed-loop drive control methods for industrial applications.
  • Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • Knowledge of ARM Cortex-M processor architecture, CMSIS, and related tools.
  • Experience with C# and Visual Studio IDE/Visual Studio Code.
  • Understanding of the New Product Introduction (NPI) process and project planning elements.
