Position Overview:
We are in search of enthusiastic and innovative individuals to fill the role of Apprentice Security Analyst. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage with our Cybersecurity Services Team, where each day presents new challenges and learning experiences. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting cybersecurity evaluations, risk assessments, and phishing simulations to uncover vulnerabilities and threats to our systems.
- Generate comprehensive reports detailing findings and recommendations.
- Collaborate with experienced analysts and team members for mentorship and guidance.
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain consistency in assessments and reporting.
- Become proficient in specific security tools, including navigation and operation of consoles and dashboards.
- Stay informed about emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and attack methodologies.
- Enhance skills through self-directed study, training, and mentorship from senior analysts.
- Maintain effective communication with team members and stakeholders.
- Document insights and lessons learned from assignments to improve incident response.
- Exhibit adaptability and a willingness to learn and grow within the team.
Candidate Profile:
Qualifications and Experience:
- Achieved a 2:1 or 1st in a technical discipline, with strong A-levels or equivalent qualifications.
- Familiarity with IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanning, and web application penetration testing tools.
- Understanding of networking protocols, operating systems, and security technologies.
- Experience with security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus software, and vulnerability assessment tools.
- Knowledge of ISO 27001, NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework, Cyber Essentials Plus, and OWASP.
Skills Required:
- Genuine passion for IT and cybersecurity, with a commitment to staying updated on industry trends.
- Strong IT literacy encompassing both hardware and software.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills related to IT challenges.
- Effective time management and organizational skills to prioritize and manage dynamic workloads.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional and global teams.
- Self-motivated and capable of meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
