Job Description

Job Title: Aerospace Engineering Workshop Supervisor

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Engineering Workshop Supervisor to lead our aerospace engineering workshop. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the workshop, collaborating with the team on project planning and execution, conducting performance evaluations, and actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the workshop team to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of projects
  • Oversee the manufacturing and maintenance of aerospace components using CNC machines
  • Train, mentor, and provide guidance to workshop personnel, including CNC machinists, to optimize their performance and foster a culture of continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards in the workshop environment
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to prioritize and schedule work orders based on operational and customer requirements
  • Experience in managing several shop floor machinists, both skilled & semi-skilled
  • Maintain processes & procedures
  • Maximizing cycle times
  • Keeping machines running and meeting OEE targets

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within an engineering workshop, preferably in the aerospace industry
  • Proficient with CNC machines
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage a diverse team
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and a commitment to promoting a safe and inclusive work environment

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 7.30am - 4.30pm and 7.30ampm Friday (39 hours)

Salary: £20 per hour depending on experience, equating to £40,560 per annum
