In-House Legal Counsel – Insurance Sector
An accomplished attorney is sought to become a vital part of the legal department for our client in the insurance industry.
Position Summary
This role as Legal Counsel is tailored for a professional specializing in the insurance sector.
Your responsibilities will encompass providing legal guidance and expertise, which includes the drafting, negotiation, and assessment of various commercial agreements and contract modifications in alignment with regulatory standards and internal protocols.
This will involve a range of agreements such as agency contracts, binding authority contracts, third-party administrator contracts, service agreements, service level agreements (SLAs), non-standard terms of business agreements, run-off contracts, co-insurance contracts, re-insurance contracts, share purchase contracts, software and licensing agreements, as well as confidentiality agreements.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The organization is looking for a qualified solicitor or barrister with the following qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience with substantial expertise in commercial contract work, whether in-house or in private practice.
- Experience in the insurance sector, either from an in-house or private practice perspective, particularly someone who can provide insights on regulatory matters.
- A collaborative team player who thrives in a cooperative environment and can effectively engage with colleagues.
- Strong analytical skills and decision-making capabilities, demonstrating sound judgment.
- Ability to deliver commercially viable solutions to the business on a regular basis.
- A versatile lawyer capable of advising on a diverse range of legal areas.
