Mane Contract Services is looking for a dedicated Aerodynamics Project Manager to work in close collaboration with Senior Aerodynamicists and oversee a team of talented aerodynamic specialists. This position focuses on guiding and empowering team members to create cutting-edge aerodynamic solutions for a designated area of automotive design.
Key Responsibilities
As an Aerodynamics Project Manager, your duties will encompass:
- Meeting Aerodynamic Targets: Strive towards defined aerodynamic objectives, enhancing the team's learning through the effective application of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and experimental data.
- Advancing Aerodynamic Knowledge: Elevate the department's aerodynamic understanding through comprehensive analysis and communication of CFD and experimental findings.
- Team Development: Mentor and support junior team members, promoting their professional growth and technical expertise.
- Wind Tunnel Operations: Organize, prepare, and conduct successful wind tunnel testing sessions.
- Reporting and Collaboration: Produce clear reports on findings and theories that stimulate critical discussion and idea exchange within the team.
- Continuous Enhancement: Maintain a thorough understanding of the aerodynamic package within the team's scope, with a proactive approach to ongoing improvement and technical innovation.
- Interdepartmental Communication: Cultivate positive relationships and ensure effective communication throughout the department and across the wider organization.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate:
- Significant F1 Aerodynamic Experience: Several years of involvement in aerodynamic development within the Formula 1 sector.
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication capabilities, with the ability to collaborate across various functions and departments.
- Influential Leadership: Proven capacity to secure buy-in and foster collaboration across teams.
- Mentorship Skills: Demonstrated experience in nurturing and guiding less experienced team members.
- Aerodynamic Knowledge: In-depth understanding of aerodynamic principles.
- CFD Expertise: Familiarity with CFD methodologies, including non-standard models.
- CAD Skills: Proficiency in CAD for designing aerodynamic surfaces, with experience in Siemens NX being a plus.
