Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Gas Turbine Aerothermal Performance

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join the Oxford Turbine Research Facility (OTRF) team at the Oxford Thermofluids Institute. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of next-generation component technology and collaborate with industry partners to advance the state of the art in gas turbine cooling technologies.
The project will focus on examining the thermal performance of novel turbine blade cooling concepts using advanced IR measurement techniques. The candidate will be responsible for designing and assessing the thermal performance of various turbine blade geometries and cooling concepts, as well as designing a novel combustor simulator for the facility.
The ideal candidate will possess a relevant PhD/DPhil (or be near completion) and have proven experience in aerothermal experiments and/or turbine design. Experience in data analysis, design using FEA and CAD packages, and CFD is also desirable. Good time management, organization, and ability to work effectively in a team and individually are essential to deliver the project.
