Job Description

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced and qualified English Lecturer to join our team at Bournemouth & Poole College. As an English Lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality learning experiences to our students, using a variety of teaching and learning methods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of GCSE English Language and Literature courses, ensuring that teaching is based on current best practice and is consistent with a high standard of practice.
  • Provide academic support to students in accordance with agreed procedures, including marking of student work and internal examinations and assessments.
  • Prepare and deliver lesson plans and assignment schedules, as well as learning materials and student assignments.
  • Manage student issues within agreed protocols, and undertake other reasonable duties as required by the line manager.

Requirements

  • Relevant Level 3 English qualification.
  • Teaching Qualification or willingness to achieve within 2 years.
  • Experience of facilitating GCSE English learning for students in a Further Education or an appropriate educational setting.
  • Knowledge of the content of GCSE English Language.
  • Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal.
