We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Medicine Consultant to join our team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading a multidisciplinary team, and contributing to the development of respiratory services.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Leeds Integrated COPD Service, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care and develop innovative ways of working to sustain increasing patient load.
- Contribute to the Respiratory and Acute Medicine on-call rota, ensuring seamless patient care and effective communication with the team.
- Take an active role in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, mentoring medical students and junior doctors to develop their skills and knowledge.
- Participate in medical research, contributing to the development of new treatments and therapies for respiratory diseases.
- Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure effective patient care and service delivery.
- Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom, or equivalent, and completion of higher specialist training in Respiratory Medicine.
- Experience in training undergraduate medical students and postgraduate doctors, with a strong track record of teaching and mentoring.
- High level of clinical experience and competence in Respiratory Medicine, with a special interest in COPD.
- Ability to demonstrate continuous career progression consistent with personal circumstances.
