Wood is seeking a highly skilled Principal Estimator to join our team in Aberdeen, Scotland. This is a full-time position that offers a flexible hybrid working pattern.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced estimator to prepare, review, and submit accurate estimates of costs to provide services to clients or potential clients. The successful candidate will ensure accurate budgeting and planning to support robust project control throughout their lifecycle, ensuring profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop project estimates that meet contractual requirements and Wood policies, procedures, and standards.
  2. Support senior members of the estimating team in managing and developing the estimating team.
  3. Manage contract or project estimating norms and prepare and file project estimate documentation.
  4. Act as the focal point for several project scopes.
  5. Identify areas of best practice and drive continuous improvement within the Estimating team.

Requirements:

  1. Typically requires an ISCED level 6 (Bachelor's) Degree in a relevant technical or business discipline (or equivalent gained through relevant vocational training and/or industry experience).
  2. A good level of experience in progressive industries and estimating positions.
  3. Thorough knowledge of estimating techniques and systems, with a detailed understanding of their application.
  4. Excellent understanding of project management principles and techniques.
  5. Strong understanding of Cost Management, Change Control, Planning & Risk Analysis & Management.
  6. Prior experience in a Senior Estimating role.
