Position Overview
The Audit Manager will lead the audit team, reporting directly to a Partner at the practice. As an integral part of the firm, the successful candidate will oversee audit engagements, drive process improvements, and contribute to the strategic vision of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and Manage Audit Engagements: Oversee audit engagements for a variety of clients across different industries, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and professional standards.
- Develop and Maintain Client Relationships: Develop and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor on audit matters and providing valuable insights to enhance their business operations.
- Coordinate Audit Planning and Execution: Coordinate audit planning, execution, and reporting processes, including risk assessment, materiality determination, and audit testing.
- Review and Evaluate Audit Work: Review and evaluate audit work papers, financial statements, and related disclosures to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable standards.
- Mentor and Coach Audit Team Members: Mentor and coach audit team members, providing guidance on technical matters, professional development, and performance improvement.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the audit function, implementing best practices, tools, and technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Contribute to Firm-Wide Policies: Contribute to the development of firm-wide policies, procedures, and methodologies to support the modernization and transformation goals.
- Stay Current with Industry Developments: Stay abreast of regulatory changes, emerging trends, and industry developments relevant to auditing and accounting standards.
Requirements
- Professional Qualifications: ACA / ACCA qualified.
- Experience: Proven experience in external auditing within a public accounting firm, with a focus on managing audit engagements and client relationships.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge of auditing standards, financial reporting requirements, and regulatory compliance.
- Leadership and Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with clients effectively, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels.
- Leadership Abilities: Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to motivate and develop team members, drive results, and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with data analytics tools is a plus.
