We are looking for enthusiastic candidates to become part of our vibrant security team at Loughborough University. No prior security experience is required; our main focus is on the support and well-being of our students and staff. All necessary training will be provided to ensure you are well-equipped for the role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of students, staff, and visitors
- Safeguarding university facilities and property both on and off campus
- Protecting the personal belongings of students, staff, and visitors
- Managing traffic flow and parking regulations
Applicants should ensure that their application clearly demonstrates how they meet the essential criteria for consideration.
Essential Requirement: A valid driving license is mandatory.
Role Purpose:
As a member of the university's security team, your primary responsibilities will include conducting uniformed patrols on a rotating twelve-hour shift schedule, with day shifts commencing at 6 AM and night shifts at 6 PM.
Shift Pattern:
- 4-night shifts from Monday to Thursday, followed by 7 days off
- 3-night shifts from Friday to Sunday, followed by 4 days off
- 3-day shifts from Friday to Sunday, followed by 2 days off
- 2-day shifts from Wednesday to Thursday, followed by 3 days off
- 3-day shifts from Monday to Wednesday, followed by 4 days off
Your patrol duties will involve foot and bicycle patrols, and if you possess a driving license, the use of vehicles as needed. You will respond to incidents occurring on university property and may have responsibilities beyond the university grounds, involving students or other contracted security duties.
The safety of our staff and students is our utmost priority, alongside ensuring the welfare of all individuals associated with or visiting the university, safeguarding university assets, and regulating vehicle movement on and around the campus.
