About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hydraulic Modeller to join our team at Arup, a global leader in the water industry. As a senior member of our team, you will lead and deliver wastewater network modelling projects, including model build and flow survey verification, to industry standards and specifications.

With a strong track record of delivering water projects in the UK, including collaboration with private/public sector clients and regulators, you will have the ability to lead and manage projects from concept to completion. Your expertise in 1D hydraulic models for risk analysis and developing solutions for water quality and flood risk benefits, including storm overflows and wastewater treatment works, will be invaluable to our team.

As a senior member of our team, you will also be responsible for developing and reviewing technical reports, models, and supporting calculations, as well as assisting with bid preparation and proposals. Your strong client relationship management skills and ability to present results, challenges, and proposals in a productive, collaborative working environment will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver wastewater network modelling projects, including model build and flow survey verification, to industry standards and specifications.
  • Develop and review technical reports, models, and supporting calculations.
  • Assist with bid preparation and proposals.
  • Develop and implement digital tools to enhance, optimise, and automate our offering.
  • Manage and mentor junior modellers, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • Chartered or close to chartership with an appropriate organisation.
  • Practical experience in hydraulic modelling techniques within the UK water industry, specifically using InfoWorks ICM including Level 1 UPM water quality modelling.
  • Strong client relationship management skills and ability to present results, challenges, and proposals in a productive, collaborative working environment.
