About the Role

Morrison Energy Services is seeking a highly skilled HV Electrical Design and Management Specialist to join our team and contribute to the success of our national EV framework contracts.

As a key member of our Net Zero (EV) team, you will be responsible for designing and installing rapid and ultra-rapid EV chargers and associated electrical infrastructure, including sub-stations across the UK for charge point operators.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high and low voltage electrical distribution systems connected to a low voltage electrical system of EV chargers.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project feasibility and identify potential issues related to high and low voltage systems.
  • Review project requirements and specifications to ensure designs meet industry standards and regulations.
  • Manage and track a pipeline of designs through to pricing and construction.
  • Ensure instructed projects are tracked against key milestones to facilitate accurate forecasting of work and resources.
  • Maximize revenue and profit from customer contracts through identifying opportunities for cost savings and/or additional chargeable activities.
  • Build and maintain constructive relationships with customers in line with our core values of delivering what we promise.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Ability to manage and track multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills to support construction and commissioning teams during project implementation.
  • Robust skills in preparing detailed drawings, specifications, and bills of materials to assist the commercial department in pricing electrical work.
  • Full driving license.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Minimum of five years experience in analyzing end user electrical load requirements and designing and developing appropriate systems and components/materials to meet required standards.
  • Minimum of five years experience working for or with organizations involved in the construction of HV & LV electrical distribution networks.
  • Knowledge and previous experience of electrical safety regulations and best practices.
  • Knowledge of calculating, validating, and negotiating asset values for HV & LV electrical assets.
  • Minimum of five years experience working for or with organizations involved in the installation of DC EV chargers.
  • An understanding of the Electrical Vehicle (EV) infrastructure industry, including trends, suppliers, and market conditions.
