The Engineering Manager is a key member of our team, responsible for leading and managing a team of engineers to achieve project deliverables to a high standard. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities- Lead by example, implementing the Sondrel culture to create a high-performing team and deliver on commitments.
- Work with the Senior Engineering Manager to create a high-performing team by continuously improving team performance, understanding Sondrel's behaviors, managing employee-related issues, and setting SMART objectives in line with project deliverables.
- Take ownership of developing direct reports in their career progression by identifying on-the-job experience, training, and development needs.
- Liaise with the Senior Engineering Manager to hire to headcount to address current and future skills gaps and capability within the team.
- Communicate, follow, and ensure the team understands and adheres to company policies, procedures, and processes.
- Manage the employee lifecycle within the team, including onboarding, offboarding, absence, holiday management, and monitoring departmental employee turnover and improving retention.
- Work with broader engineering teams and engineering management to constantly improve methodologies and adopt best industry working practices.
- Provide guidance to the team and lead DFT work in projects, covering DFT strategy definition, implementation of DFT structures to meet testability requirements, and verification of implemented DFT structures.
- Liaise with the Senior Engineering Manager by coordinating representation of Sondrel at universities, conferences, and trade shows, and presenting technical papers.
- A Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering or a relevant subject.
- Project management experience/qualification (desirable).
- Management skills:
- Experience of empowering, delegating, and developing teams of people to deliver on projects.
- Able to coach and mentor others to improve performance.
- Logic-based implementation and verification.
- DFT implementation and verification of mixed-signal IPs.
- Ability to work under pressure with solid organizational and creative problem-solving skills.
