Position: Principal Safety Engineer
Location: Aldermaston, UK
Compensation: £85 - £90 per hour (inside IR35)
Contract Duration: 24 months

IO Associates is seeking a Principal Safety Engineer to collaborate with a leading global consulting firm specializing in design, engineering, and project management within the infrastructure sector. This organization leverages advanced, interactive, and data-driven technologies to empower clients in navigating complex challenges.

The role is based in Aldermaston, and the ideal candidate will possess:

Essential Expertise:

  • Development of top-down safety cases
  • Experience with HAZID and HAZAN methodologies
  • Preparation of comprehensive safety reports
  • Proficiency in Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA)
  • Knowledge of ALARP principles

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engagement with Technical Authorities on critical technical matters.
  • Expertise in areas such as nuclear fire safety, external hazards, mechanical systems, and DSEAR compliance.
  • Understanding of CAE-based safety cases and critical safety functions.
  • Previous experience with AWE is highly desirable.
