Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding role for a Senior Oncology Dietitian to lead the Oncology Dietetics Team at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing line management support to junior staff, participating in forward planning and development of the dietetic department, and contributing to the development and updating of clinical guidelines and policies.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Team Management
  • Provide line management support to junior staff within the Oncology Dietetics Team.
  • Participate in forward planning and development of the dietetic department with particular reference to cancer care and rehabilitation.
  1. Clinical Leadership
  • Lead and contribute to the development and updating of evidence-based clinical guidelines, policies, procedures, and patient information.
  • Propose changes to own working practices and practices relating to nutrition in cancer care across the Dietetic Service based on current evidence and best practice.
  1. Operational Management
  • Monitor stock levels of resources such as stationery, diet sheets, patient information, health promotion leaflets, enteral feeding equipment, and ensure cost-effective and appropriate use within the Oncology Dietetics Team.
  • Plan and prioritize own workload and evaluate own practice, which may include clinics, group work, working jointly with other professionals and agencies.
Requirements

The successful candidate will have appropriate UK professional registration and a strong understanding of the Trust's Values and Behaviours. They will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of the dietetic department.
