Building Fabric Engineer

Integral UK Ltd is seeking a dedicated Building Fabric Engineer to enhance our operational team.

Core Working Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm

Position Overview

In this essential role, you will contribute significantly to our contractual commitments while fostering a collaborative team environment. Your efforts will ensure that we maintain high standards throughout the lifecycle of the building.

The Building Fabric Engineer position offers diverse responsibilities and opportunities for professional development, particularly in fire safety and compliance.

This role will require you to complete specialized training in fire door safety, enhancing your skills in line with the evolving needs of the building.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform both scheduled and on-demand maintenance tasks as directed by management, including but not limited to painting, carpentry, minor repairs, and other general support duties.
  • Update and manage completed maintenance tasks within the site's management system.
  • Uphold high standards of workmanship to ensure the effectiveness and reliability of the building's operations.
  • Assist subcontractors with maintenance tasks as necessary.
  • Adhere to company quality assurance and site protocols at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities.
  • Conduct work in various building environments, utilizing provided access equipment and personal protective equipment.
  • Ensure all company tools are kept in a safe and functional condition.
  • Adopt a proactive approach to support the ongoing success of the contract.
  • Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations as outlined in site documentation.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.
  • Conduct regular inspections of fire doors as part of your training.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience in a similar maintenance role.
  • Relevant qualifications such as an apprenticeship or equivalent certification.
  • Understanding of safety protocols, including toolbox talks and permit-to-work systems.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including manual handling and working at heights.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in computer use.
  • Awareness of health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to interact professionally with clients, visitors, and team members.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement in processes and client satisfaction.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Enthusiastic and proactive in achieving operational excellence.
  • Strong multitasking abilities and self-management skills.
  • High initiative and drive for operational improvement.
