About the Role

We are seeking an experienced ecologist with protected species expertise to join our team at FPCR Environment and Design Limited. As a Protected Species Specialist, you will play a key role in delivering complex and rewarding projects, working closely with our clients to design and implement effective mitigation strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement protected species surveys and assessments
  • Provide expert advice on protected species licensing and permitting
  • Collaborate with our team to design and deliver robust mitigation strategies
  • Conduct site visits and assessments to identify protected species habitats
  • Prepare and submit reports and applications to regulatory authorities
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest protected species legislation and best practices
Requirements
  • Degree-level qualification in ecology or a related field
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) or equivalent
  • Specialist knowledge of protected species, including bats and great crested newts
  • Class licence for one or more protected species
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in ecological consultancy or a related field
  • Excellent report-writing and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
