We are thrilled to announce an opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to become part of our team at Thames Water. In this role, you will oversee all financial aspects of a designated area within the Logistics Management Centre, specifically focusing on Waste Networks in North East London. Your expertise will be crucial in providing commercial guidance to local operational teams and supporting the Senior Quantity Surveyor in evaluating more intricate projects and claims.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take commercial responsibility for expenditures up to £10 million.
- Ensure compliance with all contractual, legal, and commercial requirements.
- Collaborate with professional service colleagues, including Senior Management Accountants and Operations Managers.
- Manage a team of 2 full-time employees.
- Offer commercial insights to local operational teams.
- Protect the company against claims exceeding £1 million annually.
- Achieve efficiency savings of £1 million each year.
This position offers flexibility in base locations within the Thames Valley and Home Counties regions. It is a hybrid role, combining office, site, and home-based work, with potential travel for site visits.
What We Seek:
- A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Experience managing commercial responsibilities exceeding £3 million.
- Proven track record in resolving claims over £200K.
- Ability to engage effectively at local management levels.
- Experience in site measurement.
- Progress towards obtaining Chartered status.
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary up to £52,000 per annum, based on experience and skills.
- 26 days of annual leave, increasing to 30 with tenure (plus bank holidays).
- Annual car allowance of £4,500.
- Contributory pension scheme with a maximum of 12% employer contribution.
