Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Pharmacy Technician in a dynamic and supportive team at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. As a key member of the dispensary team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the pharmacy service.

Main Responsibilities

  • Participate in team meetings and daily set up, providing effective communication and handovers.
  • Monitor and streamline workflow using the pharmacy tracking system, proactively managing bottlenecks and supporting the team.
  • Accurately manage stock of controlled drugs, including ordering and receiving, investigating discrepancies and documenting findings.
  • Dispense clinical trial medication and maintain accurate records, providing advice and problem-solving support to dispensary staff.
  • Manage workload according to agreed pharmacy turnaround times, escalating issues to the operational lead as necessary.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Previous experience in hospital or community pharmacy.
  • Professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • ACPT accredited or willingness to work towards qualification.

Desirable

  • NVQ3 in Pharmaceutical Services or equivalent.
