Pharmacy Technician Job Description

As a Pharmacy Technician at NHS Professionals, you will play a vital role in supporting the pharmacy team in delivering high-quality patient care. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, where you will have the chance to develop your skills and expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the dispensary team meetings and daily set up, ensuring effective communication and handovers.
  • Monitor and streamline workflow using the pharmacy tracking system, proactively managing bottlenecks and supporting the team.
  • Accurately manage stock of controlled drugs, including ordering and receiving, investigating discrepancies, and documenting findings.
  • Dispense clinical trial medication and maintain accurate records, providing advice and support to dispensary staff as needed.
  • Manage workload according to agreed pharmacy turnaround times, escalating issues to the operational lead as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Professional Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • ACPT accredited or willing to work towards qualification
  • NVQ3 in Pharmaceutical Services or Equivalent
  • Previous experience in hospital or community pharmacy
