Job Title: Technical Director

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Technical Director to lead our structural design team in the flood and coastal defence sector.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical leadership and oversight of structural design projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to project programmes and budgets.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Technical leadership and oversight of structural design projects
  • Line management of junior staff, including mentoring and guidance
  • Client and relationship management
  • Business development and growth
  • Fostering a general understanding of structural design across the wider engineering team

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • A robust level of experience in leading and delivering civil and structural design within the flood and coastal defence sectors
  • Management and growth of teams
  • Management of client relationships
  • Business development – tenders/bids and fee proposals
  • MEng (or equivalent) in civil or structural engineering
  • Member of a relevant professional body (e.g. ICE or IStructE)
