Position Overview:

We are seeking a committed and compassionate Autism Support Specialist to join our dedicated team. This role involves providing tailored support to an individual with autism, mild learning difficulties, and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer social and emotional assistance while facilitating outdoor exploration in the countryside.
  • Encourage community engagement to enhance confidence and independence.
  • Plan and implement structured activities at home to foster life skills and personal interests.
  • Deliver exceptional Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) to create a nurturing environment.
  • Assist in reducing anxiety and managing behaviours to help the individual achieve personal goals.

We provide opportunities for professional growth, including training in autism and PBS, with the potential for advancement to senior roles within our organization.

Work Schedule:

This position offers up to 30 contracted hours per week, with a requirement to work at least three mornings from Monday to Friday. Additional hours may be available during standard office hours, as well as support during occasional overnight trips.

Compensation:

The starting salary is £28, pro-rata, based on a 37.5-hour workweek, equating to £14.50 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Full UK driving license.
  • Experience working with individuals with challenging behaviours.
  • At least one year of experience supporting individuals with emotional or social difficulties.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Personal qualities such as empathy, patience, and attention to detail.
