About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to assist an individual named Matt in managing his daily life and achieving his goals.

Matt has autism and requires support with various aspects, including administrative tasks, budgeting, communication, and social engagement. He is a bright and engaging individual who enjoys reading, theatre, gardening, B-movies, and dogs. He appreciates humor and someone who can connect with his unique personality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support, such as writing letters and assisting with communication.
  • Offer guidance and assistance with budgeting and financial management.
  • Liaise with contractors and tradespeople on Matt's behalf.
  • Support Matt in finding and maintaining employment, including interview preparation and job search assistance.
  • Provide emotional support, advocacy, and encouragement.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Experience working with individuals who have autism is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial.
  • A non-smoking individual with access to a vehicle for work purposes is required.
  • A genuine desire to support Matt in living a fulfilling life.
