Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Production Operator to join our team at McCormick UK Limited. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our condiments manufacturing equipment, ensuring high-quality products and efficient production processes.
Main Responsibilities
- Equipment Operation: Operate processing and packing equipment, ensuring compliance with manufacturing recipe management systems, batch cards, recipe sheets, SOPs, and standard work instructions.
- Quality and Safety: Inspect and maintain safety (LOTO) and quality (HACCP/GMP) parameters and specifications, ensuring a safe working environment and high-quality products.
- Process Monitoring: Monitor and adjust production processes or equipment for quality and productivity, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
- Documentation: Prepare production documents, such as manufacturing batch records, quality records, inventory reports, or productivity reports, to ensure accurate and timely documentation.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform Autonomous Maintenance activities, including general cleaning, inspection, and lubrication of equipment, to maintain optimal performance and prevent equipment deterioration.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot basic mechanical and equipment electrical control systems, identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime and ensure efficient production.
- Teamwork: Work independently or with a team, utilizing problem-solving tools (RCA, 5 Why) to determine root cause, eliminate losses, and improve processes.
- Compliance: Ensure full compliance with Company Quality, Food Safety, Health & Safety, and Environmental requirements, adhering to regulatory standards and best practices.
Requirements
- Manufacturing Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing/production role, with a preference for food and drinks manufacturing experience.
- Education: Good literacy and numeracy skills, equivalent to English & Maths O'level/GCSE.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Mechanical aptitude and understanding of equipment structure and functions.
- Communication Skills: Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Problem-solving and fault-finding skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail, with a focus on quality and accuracy.
- Flexibility: Flexible approach to working, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Positive Attitude: Positive and enthusiastic attitude towards work and colleagues, with a willingness to learn and grow.
