About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safeguarding Children Named Nurse to join our integrated ThinkFamily Safeguarding Team at The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a clinical expert and professional resource to all practitioners within the Trust, providing lead support to staff dealing with or supervising cases of actual and suspected child abuse.
  • Undertake internal management reviews in response to requests from the Local Safeguarding Children Partnerships, ensuring that reports are submitted for sign off by the Director of Nursing and Quality prior to submission.
  • Contribute to the development of collaborative working in relation to safeguarding children and lead the Vulnerable Children Agenda, working in partnership with internal and external partners.
  • Lead on policy writing and review, ensuring that safeguarding is explicit in appropriate policies.
  • Provide safeguarding supervision to Midwives, Nurses, and other colleagues, facilitating safeguarding supervision sessions on an individual or group basis.
Requirements
  • Part 1 or Part 3 NMC Registered practitioner with extensive experience in safeguarding.
  • Significant experience in safeguarding, with evidence of ongoing professional development at degree level.
  • Accredited safeguarding supervision training and competency in teaching and assessing.
  • First-level degree or evidence of working towards attainment, with training qualification.
