Job Title: Behaviour Support Assistant

Location: Market Weighton, East Riding of Yorkshire

Job Type: Full-Time

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £84 - £105 per day

Job Summary

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistant to work at an Alternative Provision in Market Weighton, East Riding of Yorkshire. The successful candidate will provide 1:1 support for young students with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 support for students with complex needs, associated learning difficulties, and challenging behaviours.
  • Support the delivery of in-class activities, promoting independent learning and encouraging appropriate social skills.
  • Work alongside teaching staff to support pupil behaviour, learning, and personal development.
  • Build trusting relationships with students to help re-engage them with their learning in a safe and caring environment.
  • Help students replace feelings of failure and frustration with a sense of belonging and success.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children or young people, preferably in a school or residential setting.
  • Knowledge of complex needs, associated learning difficulties, and challenging behaviours.
  • Knowledge and understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff members and outside agencies.
  • Enhanced Child Only DBS registered to the update service or willingness to apply for one.
