Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to lead our kitchen team and contribute to the success of our new venue, The Boat House Cafe. As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation. You will work closely with our Head Chef to develop menus, manage kitchen operations, and maintain a positive and productive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Food Quality and Consistency
    • Ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
    • Monitor and maintain food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Team Management
    • Lead and motivate a team of chefs to achieve high standards of performance.
    • Develop and implement training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge.
  • Menu Development
    • Work with the Head Chef to develop and implement new menus and menu concepts.
    • Source and procure high-quality ingredients and supplies.
  • Operations Management
    • Manage kitchen operations to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
    • Monitor and control kitchen costs and inventory.

Requirements

  • Experience
    • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef in a high-end restaurant or cafe.
  • Skills
    • Proven track record of delivering high-quality food and exceptional customer service.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a calm and professional demeanor.
