About Our Operations.
In response to the growth of our bread production facilities, we are looking to enhance our engineering team with a new opportunity for a Facilities Maintenance Engineer. Our facilities specialize in producing a variety of artisan flatbreads, baguettes, doughballs, and ciabattas for major retailers.
Role Responsibilities.
The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that all facility services and infrastructure meet regulatory standards and that any customer audit discrepancies are addressed promptly.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all facility services such as water supply, refrigeration, air compression, drainage, and electrical systems operate within legal and business standards.
  • Maintain compliance records for pressure systems, electrical safety, lifting operations, pressure systems, refrigerant management, trade effluent, and legionella control.
  • Oversee all service contract documentation and schedules.
  • Monitor and maintain all structural aspects of the facility to ensure they meet acceptable standards.
  • Document and complete all necessary tasks using the business's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Execute all assigned tasks through the CMMS, including addressing customer discrepancies, planned preventive maintenance, and structural repairs.
  • Ensure all lighting systems are maintained, and emergency lighting is inspected and tested according to regulations, with any issues logged in the CMMS for timely resolution.
  • Inspect and maintain all air handling systems as per maintenance schedules.
  • Conduct legionella prevention measures, including temperature monitoring and system flushing, in a timely manner.
  • Operate and test the Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) Plant.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and service providers regarding facility service contracts.

Candidate Profile.
  • Completion of a recognized Mechanical or Electrical apprenticeship.
  • Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
  • Experience in planning work and preparing reports; capable of completing inspection and testing certifications.
  • Adherence to safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to restore assets post-maintenance and manage spare parts effectively.
  • Awareness of safety, health, and environmental standards.
  • Proficient in reading and following site Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Skills in mechanical installation and troubleshooting.
