Job Title: Building Surveyor Asset Manager

Join our team as a Building Surveyor Asset Manager and take on a challenging role that requires strong technical skills and excellent communication abilities.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Building Surveyor Asset Manager to join our team in York. As an Asset Engineer (Buildings) within Network Rail, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of 1000+ building-related assets, including stations, offices, depots, and lineside buildings, across the Eastern region.

You will work closely with key stakeholders, such as Train Operating Companies and Station Managers, to ensure that all building fabric-related requirements are met. This will involve managing contractors and in-house staff, prioritizing maintenance and renewal works, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage key stakeholders, including Train Operating Companies and Station Managers, to ensure that all building fabric-related requirements are met.
  2. Manage and liaise with contractors and in-house staff to undertake condition surveys and recommend remedial and renewal works.
  3. Prioritize building fabric-related maintenance and renewal works, ensuring health and safety and compliance are paramount.
Location, Salary & Benefits

Starting salary - £43,588 - £49,000 per annum.

Candidate Essentials
  1. HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in a relevant field, such as Building Surveying, Construction, Architecture, Structural Engineering.
  2. Previous experience managing high volumes of Building Surveying contracts. Candidates from a Local Authority, Consultancy, or Building Services contractor environment would be ideal.
  3. Commutable distance from York HQ, happy with extensive travel, as they will be covering a large geographical area, and have a large number of assets in their portfolio.
  4. High level of resilience and excellent communication skills, as they will be acting as principal point of contact for key stakeholders, such as the train operating companies/station managers.
