We are seeking an experienced Plant Area Manager to join our team at Webbs Garden Centres Ltd. in Cheltenham.
Key Responsibilities- Plant Care and Maintenance: Monitor plant health, oversee watering, feeding, pruning, and implement seasonal care practices to ensure plant health throughout the year.
- Stock Management: Manage plant stock levels, order new plants, and ensure deliveries are properly received and displayed.
- Customer Service: Assist customers with advice on plant selection, care, and placement, offering expert horticultural knowledge.
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage a small team responsible for plant care, customer service, and general area maintenance.
- Area Safety: Ensure the plant area is safe for both staff and customers by regularly checking for hazards.
This role requires a combination of horticultural knowledge, leadership skills, and customer service abilities, all focused on ensuring the plant section thrives as a key part of the garden centre's overall offering.
Requirements- Credibility and confidence in plant knowledge, ideally supported by a relevant qualification such as RHS 2/3 or equivalent.
- Experience of visual merchandising and a flair for creating dramatic and interesting plant displays.
- Experience (or the ability to learn) buying from a range, selected by the Group Plant Buyer.
- High quality standards and an eye for detail.
This is a full-time and permanent position, working on average 39.5 hours per week on a 2-week rota. Our reward package includes a generous benefits package including colleague discounts, life insurance, pension scheme, and free parking.
