About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Retail Operations Manager to join our team at Halfords. As a Deputy Store Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of our stores in the absence of the Store Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Experience: Ensure that customers have a great experience in our stores, with a focus on delivering excellent customer service and meeting customer satisfaction targets.
  • Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the store, including stock management, labour force scheduling, and compliance with health and safety and retail operational standards.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of store colleagues, providing coaching, training, and development opportunities to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
  • Commercial Acumen: Analyze sales data and customer metrics to identify opportunities for growth and improvement, and develop strategies to drive sales and revenue.
  • Communication: Develop and maintain effective relationships with store colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders, using excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience in a junior management role, ideally in a retail sales environment.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and manage a team.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of retail operations, including stock management, labour force scheduling, and compliance with health and safety and retail operational standards.
  • Education: Relevant qualifications in business, retail, or a related field.
