Clinical Oncology Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Oncologist to join our team at The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our oncology department, you will play a vital role in providing expert care to patients with cancer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide oncology advice to multidisciplinary teams and patients with cancer
  • Plan, prescribe, and supervise radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatments
  • Offer on-call cover for general oncological emergencies and provide advice to non-specialist teams
  • Manage out-patient clinics, day units, and wards
Administrative and Research Responsibilities:
  • Participate in clinical governance processes, including reporting to the Trust mortality database
  • Engage with electronic systems to deliver patient care
  • Contribute to an active research programme with links to Newcastle University
Teaching and Development Opportunities:
  • Develop teaching skills within the directorate and wider trust environment
  • Supervise junior doctors, Deanery trainees, and AHCPs
Flexibility and Adaptability:

We are committed to providing responsive care to our patients. As a result, we may require staff to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. If successful, you will be expected to adapt to these changing needs.
