This is an exceptional opportunity to become a key member of the Powerplant division within a vibrant and expanding aviation leasing organization. The Assistant Vice President of Powerplant will play a crucial role in the technical oversight of a diverse portfolio of commercial aircraft engines, whether they are currently leased or in storage.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the comprehensive technical oversight of a portfolio of commercial aircraft engines.
- Contribute significantly to the evaluation and forecasting of engine performance for prospective investments.
- Oversee technical diligence during engine pre-purchase assessments, lease return evaluations, maintenance during storage, and delivery processes.
- Support the engine-related aspects of aircraft acquisitions, transitions, and portfolio marketing efforts.
- Ensure that all engines comply with the technical specifications outlined in lease agreements.
- Collaborate with the operations team and external stakeholders to fulfill reporting obligations.
- Evaluate and authorize work scopes for reimbursable claims involving lessees.
- Assess maintenance reserve claims to verify adherence to lease terms.
- Manage engine repair processes, including the selection of vendors and monitoring of work scopes.
- Review and assist in the negotiation of lease contracts, purchase agreements, and letters of intent to mitigate technical risks associated with engines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and/or FAA A&P license or equivalent certification.
- Extensive knowledge of various narrowbody and widebody engine models, including but not limited to CFM56-5B, 7B, LEAP, V2500-A5, CF6-80E1, Trent family, GE90, GEnX, and PW1000 GTF.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a powerplant management capacity within an aircraft leasing firm, engine consultancy, engine OEM, or airline.
- Proficient in reviewing and interpreting the technical clauses of aircraft and engine lease and purchase contracts.
- Experience in auditing technical documentation, ensuring engine life-limited parts traceability from inception.
- Ability to draft or evaluate engine repair work scopes effectively.
- Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, utilizing external resources efficiently.
- Possess a deep understanding of diverse cultures; internationally minded and skilled in fostering relationships across organizations and cultures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications.
- Detail-oriented, self-driven, and motivated.
- A collaborative team player, adaptable, and willing to undertake necessary tasks to achieve collective objectives.
- Ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
