The Recruitment Co is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Blackpool. As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the company's mechanical systems and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform routine maintenance tasks on mechanical equipment, including inspections, repairs, and replacements.
- Conduct planned preventative maintenance to prevent equipment failures and downtime.
- Respond to breakdowns and repairs, using mechanical and electrical skills as required.
- Install new systems and equipment, including electrical installations and cable routing.
- Manage and maintain the company's utility systems, including water, electricity, and gas.
- Supervise and train other maintenance team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
- Monitor and control costs, including purchasing consumables and managing contractors.
- Assist with the preparation and implementation of risk assessments and standard operating procedures.
- Existing mechanical engineering qualification or currently working towards same.
- Working towards or has 18th edition electrical qualification.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work with all levels of the business.
- Time management skills and ability to work to set deadlines.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and Word proficiency.
- Working knowledge of electrics and electrical systems.
- Understanding of the permit to work system.
- Driving license and clean driving record.
- CCTV knowledge and experience.
- IOSH Managing Safely certification.
- Welding and fabrication skills.
- Carpentry and plumbing skills.
- Refrigeration knowledge and experience.
- Knowledge of PLC units and programming.
- Understanding of Bulgarian language and culture.
- Previous experience working in a food manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to issue permits under the permit to work system.
