Electrical Maintenance Specialist

The Recruitment Co is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their team in the Blackpool area. As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment, ensuring the smooth operation of the factory. Key Responsibilities- Maintain and repair mechanical equipment, including pumps, motors, and conveyor belts.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and prevent downtime.
- Participate in on-the-job training and attend safety and business-related courses.
- Update and maintain the preventative maintenance schedule.
- Conduct walk rounds and visual inspections to identify potential issues.
- Conduct planned preventative maintenance of all equipment.
- Break down and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment.
- Install new systems, including electrical installations and cable routing.
- Control costs and ordering, including raising and checking purchase orders.
- Administer tasks, including preparing method statements and training other team members.
- Supervise utilities, including participating in the energy management system and checking sampling equipment.
- Existing mechanical engineering qualification or currently working towards same.
- Working towards or has 18th edition electrical qualification.
- Effective communication skills between all levels within the business.
- Time management skills, ability to work to set deadlines.
- Ability to work as part of a team and also confident/competent to work on own.
- Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and Word proficiency.
- Working knowledge of electrics.
- Understanding of the 'Permit to work' system.
- Driving license (clean/current).
- CCTV knowledge.
- IOSH Managing Safely.
- Welding and fabrication skills.
- Carpentry and plumbing skills.
- Refrigeration knowledge.
- Knowledge of PLC units.
- Understanding of Bulgarian language.
- Previously worked in a food manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of food safety (Basic Hygiene).
- An understanding of health and safety requirements and implementation in the workplace.
- Training towards or achieved CIEH Level 3 Awards in Food Safety.
- Ability to issue permits under the permit to work system.
