About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal C&I Engineer to join our team at Costain. As a key member of our Nuclear Sector team, you will be responsible for leading the production of C&I design deliverables, including analysis, calculations, reports, and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead small projects and sub-tasks from a technical perspective, communicating designs effectively to instrument designers, other disciplines, construction personnel, and stakeholders.
  • Take responsibility for the production of C&I design deliverables, including analysis, calculations, reports, and specifications.
  • Support and guide more junior team members and challenge and deliver value engineering solutions.
  • Attend site visits, design reviews, and client meetings, mainly within the Northwest region.

Requirements:

  • Degree in electrical engineering with 15 years experience in Nuclear.
  • Good knowledge of design working practices and installation requirements of the discipline within the Nuclear sector.
  • Instrument engineering experience with a significant portion spent in the Nuclear sector.
  • Experience in the requirements of installations of equipment on nuclear plants.
  • Experience in the requirements for the CE marking of plant & equipment including ATEX, DSEAR, PED, low voltage directive, machinery directive, and EMC compliance.
  • Having integrity by always doing the right thing in the right way.
  • Must be customer-focused by striving for excellence through understanding, anticipating, and meeting their needs.
