Role Overview:
We are in search of a committed and empathetic Educational Support Assistant to become part of our team on a temp-to-perm basis. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in aiding the educational and emotional growth of our students, collaborating closely with teaching staff to ensure a positive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small group assistance to students with diverse additional needs.
- Support the execution of personalized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral intervention strategies.
- Encourage a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere that enhances student well-being and participation.
- Assist students in developing their social, emotional, and academic competencies.
- Work alongside teachers, therapists, and other support personnel to deliver a unified educational experience.
- Help prepare educational materials and resources tailored to the specific requirements of students.
- Track and document student progress, offering constructive feedback to the teaching team.
Requirements:
- Experience in working with children or young adults in an educational context, ideally within a specialized setting.
- A patient, understanding, and positive demeanor when supporting students with additional needs.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- A dedication to fostering inclusion and equality in the classroom.
- Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support are advantageous but not mandatory.
