Job Description

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated SEN Support Assistant to join our team. As a SEN Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs in a mixed primary and secondary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and guide pupils in their learning journey through fun play, sensory play, and continuous provisions.
  • Identify and adapt your approach to meet the specific needs of students with SEN.
  • Liaise with the class teacher to ensure you are in line with each child's EHCP and to maximize their progression and potential.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher.
  • Establish supportive and constructive relationships with pupils, parents, and carers.
  • Plan and implement learning activities for individuals and groups under the general supervision and direction of the teacher.

Requirements:

  • Passionate about working with and supporting children with SEN.
  • Knowledge of/confidence with delivering continuous provisions in line with the curriculum.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Patience and communication skills with children are essential.
  • Resilient and able to reflect on your practice.
  • Ability to follow all safeguarding policies and procedures.
