Position Overview:

As an Illumination Design Specialist, you will report directly to the Director of Product Development & Technical. Your role will be pivotal in devising innovative lighting solutions tailored for diverse applications. Your proficiency in lighting design software, combined with your technical acumen and creative vision, will significantly impact our organizational success.

Key Responsibilities:

Lighting Design:

  • Interpret design briefs and create lighting solutions that align with specified requirements.
  • Identify and articulate key differences between provided specifications and proposed alternatives.
  • Develop comprehensive lighting schemes for commercial, industrial, and educational projects.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver functional and visually appealing lighting designs.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards prior to initiating design processes.
  • Utilize Relux lighting design software proficiently; experience with Dialux is a plus.
  • Verify that completed designs meet initial specifications and customer requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver complete project packages to clients, including lighting designs, legends, CAD drawings, technical details, and energy calculations.

Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in Revit, BIM, Photoshop, CAD, and IES files for lighting design.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of lighting equipment, electrical systems, and safety standards.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical specifications effectively.

Design Aesthetics:

  • Exhibit a strong sense of design, color, and composition.
  • Achieve a balance between functionality and visual appeal in lighting solutions.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of lighting designs.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and suppliers.

Creative Thinking:

  • Propose innovative and unique lighting concepts.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies.
