About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Sports Coach at a SEMH School in Birmingham. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide opportunities for students to progress academically, socially, and emotionally
  • Lead by example as a positive role model
  • Deliver sports and activity sessions that promote physical activity and teamwork
  • Develop a deep understanding of individual students' personalities and needs
  • Offer guidance and mentoring to support students' personal growth
  • Have a strong interest in sports and a willingness to adapt to the needs of our students
  • Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Manage challenging or disruptive behavior in a professional and respectful manner
  • Offer advice and support to students to develop their self-confidence, positive self-image, and independence

Requirements:

  • At least 6 months of experience working with children in the UK
  • Experience working in care or with vulnerable people (desirable)
  • A strong personality and ability to build positive relationships with students
  • A DBS on the update service (desirable)
  • Ability to attain a reference from working with children or care
