About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Acute Medicine Specialist to join our team at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Emergency Assessment Unit, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and leading a team of medical professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical and administrative leadership to the Emergency Assessment Unit, ensuring the smooth operation of the department.
  • Develop and implement effective protocols for the management of emergency medical admissions, working closely with the nursing team and clinical colleagues.
  • Supervise junior medical staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Contribute to the development of care pathways and clinical guidelines, working collaboratively with the multi-professional team.
  • Offer support and leadership to junior medical colleagues, nursing colleagues, and other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
Person Specification
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council with a licence to practice.
  • MRCP or equivalent.
  • CCT in G(I)M with sub-specialty training in acute medicine (or equivalent).
  • Entry onto the Specialist Register or a UK SpR within 6 months of CCT date at interview.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Post graduate degree MD, PhD, MSc.
  • CCT in Acute Medicine Up-to-date ALS certification.
