Job Title: Technical Project Manager

Connect It Utility Services Limited is seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Technical Team, you will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of multi-utility infrastructure projects from award to construction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee a portfolio of Gas, Water, Electric, and EVC projects, driving projects from award to construction.
  • Act as a strong communicator and primary point of contact for clients and construction colleagues to discuss project requirements, specifications, and timelines.
  • Work closely with engineers and design teams to ensure timely and accurate design production.
  • Support design engineers and sign off design methodologies.
  • Effectively handover projects to construction colleagues to enable autonomous delivery.
  • Engage with utility companies and stakeholders to seek permissions for connections, engineering difficulties, and other collaborative activities.
  • Liaise with electricity, gas, and water networks to ensure processes are followed and documentation is completed.
  • Familiar with utility legal processes and able to confidently discuss incorporated rights with clients.
  • Provide support and advice to estimating and design teams for complex schemes.
  • Take ownership of site and design changes, communicating with commercial colleagues about cost increases or scope changes.
  • Have a strong understanding of NERs, WIRs, and GIRs, supporting the business with policy changes and scope extensions.
  • Accurately identify business risks to ensure procedures, systems, and designs can be delivered safely and to specification.
  • Support Commercial and Business Development teams with tender responses and business opportunities.
  • Create system processes and flows to drive automation and efficiency within existing systems.
  • Support internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
Requirements:
  • 5 years utility industry experience.
  • IEng or CEng registration with a relevant professional institution or actively working towards this.
  • Familiarity with CDM requirements.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to interface with people at all levels.
  • Effective time management and proficient use of Microsoft applications and company systems.
Additional:
  • BEng or Meng related degree.
  • Experience or education in using AutoCAD for viewing drawings.
  • Experience of regulatory change and implementation.
