Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with various learning needs, ensuring they have access to the curriculum and can achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Individual Learning Needs: Collaborate with teachers to provide tailored support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring each student can access the curriculum and achieve their best.
  • Encourage Positive Learning Experiences: Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and motivated to learn.
  • Assist with Differentiation: Help teachers differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, providing additional support where needed to ensure everyone can succeed.
  • Build Strong Relationships: Develop trusting and supportive relationships with students, encouraging their confidence and helping them overcome any barriers to learning.
  • Contribute to Student Wellbeing: Be a key part of the school's pastoral care team, supporting the social and emotional wellbeing of students, and helping them navigate any challenges they may face.
Requirements
  • Experience in a Similar Role: Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role within an educational setting is highly desirable, though not essential.
  • Strong Communication Skills: The ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents, ensuring that everyone is working together to support student learning.
  • Empathy and Patience: A caring and understanding approach, with the ability to support students through challenges and help them build confidence.
  • Adaptability: The flexibility to work with a variety of students across different subjects and year groups, adapting to the needs of the school and its students.
