Catering Manager Job Description

First Military Recruitment Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Catering Manager to join our team. As a Catering Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the catering operations at our residential activity centre.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee the preparation, cooking, and serving of food, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and hygiene.
  2. Manage the catering team, including training, development, and performance management.
  3. Develop and implement catering menus, ensuring variety and quality.
  4. Monitor and control food costs, stock levels, and waste management.
  5. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  6. Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
  7. Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain high standards.
  8. Develop and implement strategies to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  9. Manage budgets and financial reports, ensuring accurate forecasting and reporting.
  10. Ensure all equipment is maintained and serviced regularly.
  11. Enhance and maintain a healthy and safe working environment.
  12. Take ownership of training and development of the catering team.
  13. Set clear objectives and targets for the catering team.
  14. Actively seek customer feedback and use it to improve the customer experience.
Requirements:
  1. Level 3 food safety certification.
  2. City & Guilds 7061/2 or NVQ equivalent.
  3. Management qualification, e.g., ILM l3 Award/ILM NVQ Level 3 Management.
  4. GCSE grade A-C English, Maths, or Functional Skills L2 (or prepared to work towards).
  5. Experience in catering for large numbers.
  6. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  7. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
  8. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
