Assistant Headteacher - Primary School

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Promote a culture of inclusion and acceptance among students, staff, and the wider community.
  2. Support pupils' individual needs and develop strategies to enhance their academic performance.
  3. Develop and implement educational policies and programmes that align with the school's vision and values.
  4. Ensure the school's safeguarding procedures and policies are adhered to, prioritizing the well-being and safety of all students.
  5. Oversee the recruitment, training, and evaluation of teaching staff, fostering a positive and supportive team environment.
  6. Monitor student progress and academic performance, implementing strategies to support student achievement and close the gap.
  7. Lead whole-staff and subject meetings, promoting collaboration and professional development among teaching staff.
  8. Other responsibilities include pastoral care, behaviour management, curriculum forward planning, timetable construction, data analysis, and assessment.
  9. Foster positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and the wider community, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  10. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and educational standards, maintaining the school's reputation and credibility.
Requirements:
  1. Recent/relevant experience working with children and young people, specifically those with SEND.
  2. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent and a commitment to undertaking the NPQH.
  3. Degree Qualified in Education or a relevant subject, with a strong understanding of educational principles and practices.
  4. A passion for education, with at least 5 years of teaching experience and a proven track record of success.
  5. Excellent numeracy and literacy skills, with the ability to analyze data and implement effective strategies.
  6. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others, promoting a positive and supportive team culture.
