The London North West Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Palliative Care Advocacy Support Worker. This position involves providing essential support and care to critically ill patients within the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
Deliver direct patient care under supervision to critically ill adults in the ICU. Develop specialized skills in the assessment, delivery, and evaluation of care for critically ill patients.
Ensure adherence to established protocols and guidelines in nursing practice. Collaborate closely with the ICU multidisciplinary team (MDT) to provide high-quality, evidence-based care.
Assist the ICU lecturer practitioner by mentoring students and other healthcare workers associated with the ICU.
Leadership and Management
Engage in the enhancement of knowledge, ideas, and practices within the ICU environment.
Foster a positive culture that emphasizes competence in professional practice.
Timely report any equipment or supply deficiencies to the shift leader.
Document any incidents or complaints using the Trust's reporting system.
Maintain a safe working environment for oneself and colleagues.
Contribute to staff retention efforts within the ICU.

Education/Qualifications
Essential Criteria
- Registered Nurse with NMC Registration
- Basic Life Support certification
- Experience in IV drug administration
Desirable Criteria
- Completion of a Mentorship Course

- Understanding of the needs of acutely ill patients in a hospital setting
