Job Summary

The Test Development Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting test systems for power and magnetic products. This includes the development of ancillary systems, such as software and hardware, to assist and support the main functions of Test Engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize and perform project work related to the design of in-house test equipment and ancillary departmental systems.
  • Develop and support primary Test Platform software across departments.
  • Maintain good documentation and records pertaining to Test Project Development.
  • Generate plans for new work as required by the Test Development Manager.
  • Oversee technician work within the department.
  • Ensure development work meets required quality standards.
  • Ensure documentation for production is of suitable standard.
  • Provide technical support to other departments on Test Engineering systems.
  • Maintain parametric data on test parameters.
  • Support ancillary projects undertaken by Test Engineering.
  • Facilitate repair and calibration of Test systems.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A formal qualification equivalent to a UK degree in Electronics or a related Engineering discipline.
  • Familiarity with principles of testing power components, particularly DC-DC converters.
  • An appreciation of mechanical design, particularly test fixture design.
  • Experience in programming and software development within an Engineering environment.
  • Familiarity with NI TestStand and Sequence development.
  • Familiarity with MS Office software.
  • An appreciation of Quality control.
  • Knowledge of C# or other.NET Language.
