About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our Electron Microscopy section at North West London Pathology. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing a high-quality service to our clients, including the technical processing and preparation of tissue biopsies for ultrastructural examination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in a range of medical laboratory techniques, particularly in histopathology and electron microscopy.
  • Undertake the technical processing and preparation of tissue biopsies ready for ultrastructural examination.
  • Support the scientists, medical staff, and management teams to provide a safe and high-quality service.
  • Be an efficient and flexible member of the Cellular Pathology laboratory team.

Requirements

  • A recognised qualification in Maths and English Language, or Science and Humanities as alternative.
  • NVQ level 3 or proven and relevant laboratory experience.
  • Precise and accurate work.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Numerate and literate.
  • Able to read and follow written methodologies or protocols.
  • Knowledge across a range of laboratory procedures.
  • Previous 6 months laboratory workplace experience.
